Jeff Sosville
Skaneateles, New York
I write about how small businesses really get bought and sold.
I studied criminology, worked as an insurance fraud investigator, and then spent 25 years in small business. Most business listings tell a story. I try to find out whether it is true.

WRITING
One piece a week on misleading claims in small-business sales. Inflated add-backs. "Motivated sellers" who have been listed for two years. Businesses taken down and relisted under new numbers. I start with business brokerage because it is the world I know.

WE WERE CUTTERS

ABOUT
My day job is building businesses, through Sosville Group. I'm obsessed with open source, which is why I'm building DealLedger. I am working on a novel.
I live in Skaneateles. I walk, read, hike and ride my bike nearly every day.
